Biblical Canon: Are We Missing Books in the Bible?

There are substantial differences between Mormonism and Christianity. These differences are not trivial, nor are they insignificant. The core doctrines of the Christian faith are rejected by Latter-day Saints. But is a rejection of these doctrines grounds to say that Mormons are not Christians?

Many members of the LDS Church express a desire to focus on the similarities between Mormons and Christians instead of the differences. But CAN we really be united with the LDS Church despite our differences? Has Mormonism historically recognized a unity between Christians and Latter-day Saints? In this podcast episode, we explain WHY Christians cannot acknowledge any kind of similarities or unity with Mormons.

The first of the Gospel Topics Essays is titled “Are Mormons Christians?” We are examining that claim in this episode, and then in a future episode, we’ll respond to the particular responses provided in that essay. The doctrines over which we disagree are SO vital to the Christian faith, that to deny them is to no longer abide in the teachings of Christ.

“Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son” (2 John 1:9).
