Why do Christians stand outside LDS General Conference?
I’m one of the so-called “protesters” who stands outside of the Mormon (LDS) General Conference. Here’s why I’m out here.
Tens of thousands of Latter-day Saints stream into the LDS Conference Center at Temple Square to hear the Mormon Prophets and Apostles speak. And each conference, there are hosts of Christians standing outside trying to get Mormons to talk to them. Why are we out there? What’s our goal? In this video, I interview a bunch of the Christians outside General Conference to better understand what their motivations are for being outside of conference.
A number of people believe that being outside of the conference center is disrespectful. I hope to explain why we think that these topics are too significant to let people go without warning them of the eternal danger which they’re in. We aim to dignify meaningful conversations with Latter-day Saints—even amidst theological disagreement.
This video was filmed at the April 2024 General Conference.
